- THERE IS CURRENTLY A 4-6 WEEK WAIT TIME. We cannot accommodate emergency requests.
- The Keep People Housed – Oakland Homelessness Prevention Program provides one time only financial assistance and services to eligible, currently housed, Oakland residents at high risk of homelessness or housing loss. Assistance can include back rent and other housing-related expenses. Financial assistance is not the only service and is only offered in conjunction with participation in other services designed to provide you with long term housing stability.
- Meeting all eligibility criteria does not guarantee financial assistance. Due to limited resources, only applicants at highest risk of homelessness or housing loss will be prioritized for assistance.
- You must have a current source of income, or future income lined up. KPH – Oakland will not provide financing to tenants without income or potential income. If you do not currently meet this requirement, you can visit one of BACS’ Housing Resource Centers (information below).
- Please note that the program will not cover any expenses that have already been covered by another financial support program and will not cover anything prior to July 15, 2023. The program provides one time assistance, and it may not be able to cover all the expenses a household owes.
- If you are currently unhoused, or in temporary housing, KPH – Oakland does not provide housing location services or move-in cost assistance. Please visit a BACS Housing Resource Center for these services (information below).
